Join us on the last Saturday of the month at 9:30 am!
The Women’s Ministry at St. Paul Lutheran Church nurtures the women of our church and our community as they come to faith, Christian maturity and service through interaction with God, His Word and one another. Bible studies, programs and events will inspire your heart, enrich your life and strengthen your relationships — especially your relationship with the Lord.
If you are not participating in a Sunday School Class already, you are invited to join us as we continue our study on becoming a woman of faith. Bring your coffee and be prepared for fellowship, fun, and a good lesson. We meet during the Sunday School hour in the office conference room.
Women of the ELCA - WELCA
Women of the ELCA (WELCA) is the women’s organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. As one of the units of the church, WELCA is no longer an auxiliary but an integral part of and partner in the ministries at home and around the world.
The Congregational Unit of St. Paul Lutheran Church is a member of the Florida-Bahamas Synodical Women’s Organization, and we are in the Panhandle Conference, which extends from Pensacola to Tallahassee.
As a community of women, created in the image of God, Called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, society, and the world.
St. Paul Women of the ELCA are involved in collecting various items for several different organizations, including Lutheran Wold Relief (LWR), Sharing & Caring, Inc., Hope House in Crestview (a Teen Shelter), Shelter House in Ft. Walton Beach (a Safe House for Women & their Children), Global Health Mission and Hospice. Collection boxes are located in the Narthex. Some of the projects are:
The Kimberly Home - The Lutheran Women Florida have chosen to help support the Kimberly Home, located in Clearwater, FL, through January 2015. The Kimberly Home is a non-profit pregnancy resource center that assists women in unplanned or troubling pregnancies. This center provides a host of services including counseling, material assistance, infant and toddler daycare, transitional housing, and referrals to resources throughout the community. They also make referrals to adoption resources. Please consider making a donation to this worthy organization.
Soap Box - you can donate bars of soap in their wrappers for Lutheran World Relief
Health & Personal Care Items - WELCA collects personal care items to be given to the needy.
WELCA Gift Shop - Help support our various mission projects.
LWR Quilts - Quilting Extravaganzas are held the third Saturday of every month, depending on other activities (be sure to check!) to pin, sew, and tie quilts for Lutheran World Relief. These quilts are sent to the needy worldwide.
Cell Phones - We are collecting old cell phones to provide lasting solutions for poverty and climate change. A collection box in the Garden Narthex.
Campbell Soup Labels - We collect Campbell product labels for the White Sands School for special needs children in Fort Walton Beach. The labels are used to purchase computers. There is a basket in the Garden Narthex where we collect the labels (and other items for Sharing and Caring).
