Infants & Toddlers

The Nursery Ministry, for infants 6 moths up to age 4, joins you during this small window of time to minister to them as young children. We will provide your child with physical care and spiritual training in a fun, safe environment.

Please review our guidelines regarding what to bring, what we provide, what to expect, our check-in procedures and classroom assignments.

We welcome you and your child to this ministry of our church. We join with you in a vitally important task: the nurturing of your child's development. It is astonishing how few years a child is in the home and how little time our church has to minister to them as children. Because of this, we have developed some goals and standards for ourselves in this ministry area. Our goals include providing your child with the physical care and spiritual training that will build within him the right concept about the Church, God and Jesus. Our prayer is for each child to grow up in a Christian home, and for each of us to exhibit understanding and cooperation as we work together for the good of your child.

What to Bring

When packing a diaper bag for your child, please include the following items:
  • Two or three diapers
  • A complete change of clothes
  • Bottle of milk, formula, juice or water (this is a good practice even for mothers who nurse)

Please label all personal items (including pacifiers and sippee cups) with your child's first and last name before arriving at your child's class. This helps us keep track of your child's items.

When You Arrive at the Nursery

A Nursery leader will meet you at the door to receive your child, diaper bag and any other necessary items. Please note on the sign-in sheet any information that will help in caring for your child, such allergies and special needs.

After you have checked your child in to the Nursery, simply wave a quick "Good-bye" and leave for the Worship Service or your fellowship activity. As you know, it is normal for little ones to cry when a parent leaves. This does not last long, and separation becomes easier over time. We will immediately create interest in a toy or activity and give assurance that you will return. If your child cries for an extended period of time, we will summon you.

Pickup Procedures

Please make sure that all of your child's personal items have been returned to you before you leave the premises. Lost and found items will be retained for a short time. Items not claimed are donated to appropriate charities after one month.
