SPARK: St. Paul Activities Rally Kids to activate their faith
SPARK is at 10:10am on Sunday mornings starting September 12. Rally Day is when we "kick off" the SPARK year with registration and other fun events. Rally Day is Sunday, August 29, 2010.
We are so excited to present our new program to the congregation. Each age group will be in their own special section and have a unique name to SPARK the children’s enthusiasm. Our groups are:
1st, 2nd, 3rd grade Sparklers
4th, 5th, 6th Grade Club 456
7th & 8th Grade Jesus and Me (JAM)
High School Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO)
The adult Sunday school class continues to meet through the summer in the Library at 10:10am.
CATECHISM CLASSES
St. Paul Lutheran Church offers a two-year catechism program that begins in the child's 7th grade year. Upon completion of the 8th grade year and witnessed by the congregation, the child becomes a confirmed member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The hour-long catechism classes are offered on Wednesday evenings at 5pm September through May.
ADULT EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES
Our adult education program continues to expand.
-
We have a Monday morning Bible study group known as WOW: Women of the Word.
-
In addition, Book Lovers, a book study group, meets each Wednesday at 6:30PM. They have read and discussed novels such as the Left Behind series by LaHaye and Jenkins, and the Mitford series by Jan Karon.
-
Other adult studies and forums are offered at 10:10 on Sunday mornings and on Wednesday evenings several times throughout the year. If you are interested in leading a study or class, speak to the Pastor.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
VBS, held in June, is a five-day program from 8:30am until 11:30am. Classes are offered for children with at least one year of preschool through 5th grade completed. The youth help with the younger grades, plus have their own activity/study time.
