LWR Quilts

"An LWR quilt is special! It brings warmth on a cold night, shelter from the sun on a hot day. It becomes a bed, a room divider, a backpack to carry belongings, and at times even a home.

Quilts distributed by LWR to refugees and other people in need were first made by recycling old but good clothes, blankets, and other items. Most LWR quilts are still made this way, although fabric samples, remnants, or other new pieces of fabric are also used. Each quilt is one of a kind, with a beauty all its own, made as a gift of hope by caring people." www.lwr.org/parish/quilts.asp

St. Paul women meet the third Saturday each month at 9:30am to sew and tie quilts for Lutheran World Relief.  The women have sewn hundreds of quilts which are then sent to the LWR warehouse for distribution around the world.  For additional information, email or call the church office.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Have you ever wondered what a prayer feels like?  It is warm and soft and wraps around your shoulders.  While it was made, each stitch was filled with prayers for its recipient.  While is is worn, you can savor its warmth and feel those prayers.  These prayer shawls are gifts of God's love given through the skill and prayers of the person who made it.

The women of St. Paul sponsor a Prayer Shawl Ministry.  If you knit or crochet, we would love to have you join us in this very special endeavor.  The shawls are provided to our church members in their times of need.  They hold the love and prayers of our entire church family.  The pattern is very simple.  If interested, email or call the church office.

WEDDINGS HERE AT ST. PAUL

A wedding at St. Paul Lutheran Church is a worship service.  It is not just a social occasion with a religious touch thrown in. Nor should it become a display or a production to impress others or to conform to social customs. It is a service of worship in which life-long vows are made, prayers and praise offered up to God, and blessings extended.

Our pastor is expected to conduct the service when there is a wedding held at St. Paul.  We do not "rent" our sanctuary, therefore, one must be a member of the congregation in order to have a wedding service here.  Any exceptions to membership are at the descretion of the pastor.
